Today, Anchoring Success is a team of talented creatives who bridge the gap between lean, sophisticated organizations and the desire to implement best-practices in programming and operations. We specialize in partnering with organizations serving in Central California, we have many years of working inside and leading programming, and we thrive from the rich relationships and support that exists here locally.
Originally, Anchoring Success launched in 2014 to respond to the locally growing investment in program and operational assessment among community organizations, agencies, and schools. While assessing programs and operations is not new, we have watched organizations and funders become increasingly creative and experimental to ensure that assessment findings inform and drive decision-making.
The founders of Anchoring Success – the Alfaros – dedicate their lives to the human services and education sectors in Central California, supporting and collaborating with diverse organizations who share an investment in seeing the community thrive. They launched Anchoring Success after years of “doing favors” and freelancing to support peers throughout the region in assessing their programs and projects. For years, the Alfaros developed data infrastructures, coordinated assessments, and coached for the implementation of findings.
Dr. Alfaro took a brief pause from her independent research and role at UC Merced to incubate the concept of Anchoring Success which became a firm committed to equipping organizations with people-centered data analysis and assessment strategies to empower data-driven decision making and advance program impact. That is, Dr. Alfaro spent years working on research about large institutions and the impact of institutional cultures on programs and services; she also spent years working in programming with populations facing tremendous barriers. This background, coupled with that of Kelvin Alfaro’s specialization on the intersection of philanthropy and community programming, supported the vision and launch of Anchoring Success.
